Living and Learning at Ajani Inc. is excited to announce we have undergone a name change and will now be known as Ajani Neighbourhood House (ANH).
The new name will better represent the community spirit that a neighbourhood house embodies and bolster community connection in the Manningham area.
The decision to change the name was made in late 2024, with the membership of Living and Learning at Ajani voting unanimously to align more closely with the 400 independent, community-based neighbourhood houses across Victoria.
“ANH Committee of Management President, Kathy Monley said: “Changing our name to Ajani Neighbourhood House better reflects who we are and our place in Manningham. The Ajani Hub is a thriving community and we wanted to keep our identity as part of this group while reflecting our place in the wider community as a Neighbourhood House.”
“ANH Centre Manager Dr Rebecca Sanders said: “Neighbourhood Houses have an outstanding history as organisations help neighbours to connect with one another and make friends, learn new skills and receive support. We have been funded as Neighbourhood House now for over twenty years. It just makes sense that our name should reflect who we are, what we do and our location at the Ajani Community Hub.”
For over 25 years, our community based nonprofit organisation has nurtured community connectedness and eliminates disadvantage and isolation in a safe, welcoming, supportive environment.
Through a wide range of quality courses, activities, community food pantry and social enterprise café, we aim to connect the local community and embrace the incredible and diverse community that makes up Manningham.
Ajani Neighbourhood House is located at 2/284 Thompsons Road, Lower Templestowe. Walk ins are most welcome during our office hours, or give us a call on (03) 9580 3687 or email office@ajaninh.org.au
